

Alan studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham and qualified in 1986. After graduating he worked as a Royal Air Force Dental Officer for five years spending time in the UK, Germany and the Falkland Islands. He returned to the hospital training scheme at the Birmingham Dental Hospital in 1992 and gained the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1994.
In 1994 Alan started Orthodontic specialist training at the Birmingham Dental Hospital, gaining the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997 and a Masters of Dental Science Degree in Orthodontics from Birmingham University in the same year. He is registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council (GDC no 61572).
Originally Alan set up his own specialist orthodontic practice in Shirley in 1998 and the practice relocated to new custom designed premises in Solihull three years ago, in 2006. The practice has expanded in recent years and there are now three part time associates also working in the practice as well as a dedicated team of qualified dental nurses.
Alan is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and British Dental Association. He has a particular interest in lingual orthodontic treatment and the Invisalign technique. He regularly attends conferences and training courses to ensure he and the practice stays the forefront of dental technology and its developments.
Away from the practice Alan is married and has a nine year old son. He likes to keep fit, ski, collects antique glass and is a busy gardener!
Mike studied dentistry at Sheffield University and graduated in 1992. Following graduation he furthered his experience in both hospital and practice settings, during which time he gained the Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Having first specialised in Surgical Dentistry he was accredited as a Specialist in Oral Surgery in 1999 by the General Dental Council.
Following a change in direction Mike started Orthodontic specialist training at Birmingham Dental Hospital in 2003, gaining the Membership in Orthodontics from the Edinburgh Royal College in 2006 and a Masters of Philosophy degree from Birmingham University in 2007. This allowed him to become registered as a Specialist Orthodontist with the General Dental Council (GDC no 68403).
Continuing his pre-consultant training Mike studied at Sheffield Dental Hospital and Rotherham District General Hospital, where he obtained his Fellowship in Orthodontics in 2008. This involved specialising in complex cases requiring orthodontics which involved surgery to the jaws, with implants and restorative treatment and also treatment of patients with clefts of the lip and palate.
Mike is an active member of the British Orthodontic Society, having represented the training grades groups on several committees and he has recently completed a term as a Trustee on the main board of the Society.
Outside the world of orthodontics Mike is married with a young family and a Dalmatian all of whom keep him very busy.
Antonia studied dentistry at the University of Birmingham, qualifying in 1997. After graduation she worked both in general dental practice and in the hospital setting to complete her general professional training. During this she gained experience in all fields of dentistry including paediatric, restorative, oral medicine and surgery
After two further years working in oral and maxillofacial surgery, she was admitted as a member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Antonia started Orthodontic specialist training at Bristol Dental Hospital in 2002, and gained Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Edinburgh in 2005. During this time she was also awarded the Degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (orthodontics) from Bristol University. She is registered as a specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council (GDC no73055)
Antonia is a member of the British Orthodontist Society and attends conferences postgraduate training courses.
Away from orthodontics, Antonia is married and has two young daughters.
