Ceramic Fixed Braces     

Ceramic fixed braces are made from a translucent ceramic material that blends with the underlying tooth colour. Ceramic appliances fit on to the front surface (labial surface) of the teeth and are considerably more aesthetic than stainless steel fixed appliances. They are not invisible appliances. Wires with a plastic coating can be used to blend in even further.

Ceramic fixed braces can be used on both upper and lower teeth or on the upper teeth in combination with a lower stainless steel brace.

The appearance of ceramic appliances will deteriorate during treatment if the patient eats a lot of food with colouring, for example curry, smokes or drinks a lot of tea, coffee or red wine.
